By now, your spring preparations are likely well underway – planting, planted or a combination, spraying, sprayed or a combination. One thing is certain, it is spring, and we are all gearing up for another growing season.
Things have definitely been different with many businesses temporarily closed, social-distancing still in effect, and some products in short supply due to the COVID-19 worldwide pandemic. Many are the challenges, but there are few that we cannot overcome.
Rest assured that The TireGrabber is only a phone call or email away. We, like everyone in food production from farmers to packers, are essential, and we are here to meet your needs. May the sun shine brightly and the rain fall softly on all your growing endeavors this 2020 growing season.
Spring has Sprung – Time to Think About Skinnies
It seems like it wasn’t that long ago that we were blowing and pushing snow. Then, boom! Time to think about planting. Before we know it, it will be time to put skinnies back on the sprayer.
For safe handling and stacking, there isn’t a better, safer, more efficient option than The TireGrabber. It will attach to a Bobcat, skidsteer or tractor to make your large-scale tire changes less of a headache. And, a COVID bonus, fewer people needed for tire changes means social-distancing is possible. Right, clouds and silver linings, upsides of downsides, and so on.
Stay safe in everything you do, whether it’s reducing the threat of COVID-19 by ordering your groceries online or choosing the obvious answer for safety in tire handling by using The TireGrabber.

This Month’s Driver- Feature Customer
Kerry Andrew joined Integra Tire 2006 and has been serving the Mirror, Alberta community ever since. At Integra Tire and Auto Centre, they believe safety starts where your vehicle meets the road – your tires! Tires are, arguably, one of the most important aspects of your vehicle as they’re the only part of your vehicle that makes contact with the road. They can affect your vehicle’s performance, handling, fuel efficiency, and other important factors.

Since Olds College has been forced to cancel this summer’s AgSmart due to the global pandemic, we will have to wait until the 2021 show to see their new toy in action – the school has acquired a DOT autonomous platform. Learn more.
Having to wait to see a shiny new toy in action isn’t the only effect the pandemic is having though. COVID-19 is still wreaking havoc on all of our lives. We are getting used to not being able to find disinfectant wipes and maybe we have a few more toilet rolls on hand than we absolutely need, but some of the impacts are surprising, or at least not things we would think about right away.
Agricultural research is feeling the effects of the pandemic. At first glance, it seems strange. Social-distancing is surely possible in the field and even in labs with a little reorganization of scheduling.
The true difficulties lie in procurement and ethics. The protective clothing worn by researchers while spraying is also in demand by many branches of healthcare. That not only makes it more difficult and expensive to purchase, it also leaves researchers with the ethical question of whether their purchases may be taking away from those in dire need. Learn more.
